GitHub Integration
Connect your GitHub account and push any StackMivo project to a repository in one click, then keep it in sync as you continue building.
StackMivo can push any project directly to a GitHub repository. Once connected, you can export your generated code and continue developing it outside of StackMivo with your normal Git workflow.
GitHub is the only version-control provider available today. Bitbucket and GitLab appear on the Version Control page marked Coming Soon. Linking, labelling, and unlinking your GitHub account is covered in Version Control.
Pushing a project to GitHub
- Open your project in the IDE
- Click Sync with GitHub in the workbench toolbar (or GitHub in the header)
- If no GitHub account is linked yet, you're taken to GitHub to authorise StackMivo. Approve and you're returned to the app
- Click Sync with GitHub again
On the first sync StackMivo creates a private repository on your linked account, named after the project's unique ID, pushes the full project to it, and opens the repository in a new tab. There's no repository name or visibility to choose.
Syncing requires a Build plan and can only be started by the team owner.
Re-pushing after changes
Click Sync with GitHub again at any time. The latest changes are pushed to the same repository. Before pushing, StackMivo merges any commits that exist only on GitHub, so edits you made directly on GitHub aren't overwritten. Where the same lines changed in both places, the StackMivo version wins.
AI changes are also committed automatically after every AI response, with a configurable commit-message prefix. See GitHub Sync settings.
Importing from GitHub
You can create a StackMivo project by importing an existing GitHub repository rather than generating from scratch.
GitHub import requires a Build plan. It is not available on the Free or Prototype tiers. See Free & Prototype tiers.
Requirements
Your repository must use:
- Laravel 12+
- PHP 8.2+
- Node.js 20+ (only if your project has a
package.json)
How to import
- On the Chat page, click Import from GitHub
- Paste your GitHub repository URL
- For private repositories, add your GitHub Personal Access Token (PAT)
- The token is used only for cloning and is never stored
- Click Validate. StackMivo checks the detected versions
- If validation passes, click Import
- The project is cloned from the default branch and a container is provisioned
Personal Access Tokens for private repos
To import a private repository, you need a GitHub PAT with repo scope:
- Go to GitHub → Settings → Developer settings → Personal access tokens
- Click Generate new token
- Select the
reposcope - Copy the token and paste it into the import form
The token is used only once during the cloning step and is not stored by StackMivo.
Version Control
Link your GitHub account on the Version Control page, label or unlink it, and control how AI changes are committed and synced from the workspace GitHub Sync settings.
Custom Domains
Serve a project hosted on StackMivo from your own domain, with automatic DNS detection, a free SSL certificate, and auto-renewal.
