Build & Prototype Modes

Choose how StackMivo generates your app (a full-stack Build or a static Prototype) and pick the tech stack it targets, from Blade to React, Vue, or Livewire.

When you start a new app on the Chat screen, two choices shape what StackMivo generates: the builder mode (Build vs. Prototype) and, when enabled, the tech stack.

Build mode vs. Prototype mode

A mode selector sits above the prompt box. Pick the one that matches what you want.

ModeWhat you getBest for
BuildA full-stack Laravel app with a database, models, and dynamic functionalityReal, working applications with data, forms, auth, and business logic
PrototypeA static UI design: pages and layout only, no backend logicQuickly mocking up screens and layouts to validate a look and feel

When to use each

  • Choose Prototype when you want to explore an idea, iterate on layout, or produce a clickable-looking design fast, without wiring up data or logic.
  • Choose Build when you want a functioning app: one that stores data, has models and relationships, and includes real behavior rather than static pages.

Plan availability: Build mode requires a Build plan. On the Free and Prototype tiers the selector defaults to Prototype, and choosing Build opens the upgrade dialog. See Free & Prototype tiers.

Build mode adds a review step. For a new project in Build mode, the AI first writes a build plan and waits for you to approve it before anything is provisioned. See Reviewing the Build Plan.

Tech stacks

StackMivo always generates a Laravel backend, but you can choose how the front end is built. When the stack selector is available, you'll see a row of stack chips below the prompt.

StackDescriptionGood fit for
Laravel + React + InertiaReact front end wired to Laravel through Inertia.jsRich, component-driven UIs with heavy client-side interactivity
Laravel + Vue 3 + InertiaVue 3 front end wired to Laravel through Inertia.jsThe same reactive SPA feel as React, for Vue-oriented teams
Laravel + LivewireReactive UI driven from PHP, with minimal JavaScriptDynamic interfaces without writing a separate JS front end
Laravel + BladeClassic server-rendered Blade templatesSimple, traditional multi-page apps and the lightest stack

The stack selector is controlled by the platform. If it isn't shown, new projects use the platform's default stack and you don't need to choose. When it is shown, the stack you pick applies to the project you're creating.

Choosing a stack

  • Blade is the simplest and lightest: server-rendered pages, no front-end build step to reason about.
  • Livewire adds reactivity while keeping you in PHP, so you get dynamic components without a separate JavaScript app.
  • React and Vue (both via Inertia) give you a full single-page-app experience with component-based, highly interactive UIs. Pick the framework your team prefers.

The tech stack is chosen when a project is created. Plan the stack up front, since switching an existing project to a different front-end stack is not a one-click change.
